Appreciation
Sometimes it is difficult to know if what you do is appreciated; if what you do really matters or maybe you're just taking up space that someone else can fill better and more efficiently.
Last night I had a bad night. I didn't feel appreciated. Maybe it's my own selfishness. Maybe it's my own immaturity. Who knows? When I returned home with a cloud of depression over me, my wife noticed. In fact she noticed the dissing (or should I say missing) as it was happening. I was feeling lousy. While holding Zoe, she gave me a wonderful hug and a great kiss telling me she appreciates me. I think Zoe sensed the absence in my life as well because she leaned over, and for the very first time, gave me a Zoe kiss without me having to ask. At this point I felt more than appreciated, I felt loved!
What is most important in my life is my family. I need them and they need me. I love them and they love me. One of the great joys of being a father is coming home from work and having your kids come running out of the door and jumping into your arms with hugs and kisses. -Sigh- :-)
Who cares what others think (I admit that I do probably more than I should). I have an immediate family that loves and appreciates me.

I have always appreciated you as my little brother. (Much more now that we are older then when we were younger.)
I, too, appreciate YOU and the wonderfully kind, sweet, and (pardon my prejudice)TRUE things you have said about my daughter and granddaughters!!!!
God surely knew what He was doing when East and West met a few years ago!
Thanks for all your efforts for this family and for the youth (especially) of the world!
